Shocked doctors are trying to discover why up to 15 ants are emerging at a daily rate from inside the girl's head.
The
unprecedented medical case has been made all the more mysterious after
surgeons inserted a camera into the girl's ear and could not find any
sign of a queen ant nor an egg chamber.
Shreya
Darji, who lives in the Indian city of Deesa in Gujrat began complaining
about an irritation in her ears to her parents last August.
When her father Sanjay took her to an ear, nose and throat specialist, the doctor removed ten ants.

Two weeks later,
Shreya began complaining about the irritation again and when she was
taken to the ENT specialist more ants crawled out of her ear.
Finally, the parents took their daughter to one of the top specialists in the region.
The
Times of India reported at the weekend how the girl has provided one of
the most surprising cases for Dr Jawahar Talsania in his 32 years
practicing.

There are plans to keep Shreya under video observation |
"The girl's case
is very challenging for me, as I have never seen such a case, nor found
it in medical history," said the doctor. "The big ants must be biting
her, but the girl did not event feel pain inside her ears. Besides,
there was no damage inside her ear."
There are now plans to keep Shreya under video observation so the mystery can be solved.
Her father says they have tried everything from leading medical experts to witch doctors to solve the mystery.
Mr
Darji, who says there is no family history of such a condition, said:
"It is not even the case that some big ants entered her ears by chance.
It could not happen every day."
